Renovation Company Fareham

Southampton craftsmanship, Fareham postcodes

Fareham sits twenty minutes east of our Southampton base along the M27, and the borough is where some of our most recognisable work is. Our Locks Heath kitchen extension, a single-storey rear extension with an open-plan kitchen-diner, separate utility, bifold doors and matched period brickwork, is a fifteen-minute drive from Fareham town centre and a good picture of what we do here.

Whether you are in a 1930s semi near the town centre, a 1960s or 70s family home in Locks Heath or Park Gate, a modern house on the Whiteley estate, or a period property in Titchfield or Warsash, the same team handles your project from first site visit to final handover. Design, planning, structural engineer, every trade and building control, with one point of contact throughout.

Local knowledge

The homes we work on in Fareham

The western side of the borough, Locks Heath, Park Gate, Sarisbury Green and Warsash, is largely post-war and 1960s to 80s family housing: semis and detached homes on generous plots with the kind of rear garden that makes a single-storey or wrap-around extension straightforward. These are the properties where an open-plan kitchen-diner with bifold doors transforms how the house is used.

Closer to the town centre and in Portchester you find more 1930s semis and Victorian and Edwardian terraces, which suit side-return and rear extensions and often need the full renovation treatment: rewiring, replastering, new heating and a proper look at damp before the finishes go in. Whiteley is different again, mostly 1990s and later, where the work is more often loft conversions, garage conversions and high-specification bathrooms than structural change.

Planning

Planning permission in Fareham borough

Planning in Fareham is handled by Fareham Borough Council. Many single-storey rear extensions fall under permitted development and do not need a full application, though every extension still needs building regulations approval and building control inspections, which we manage for you.

The borough has thirteen conservation areas, including Titchfield, Titchfield Abbey, Sarisbury Green, Warsash, Catisfield, Hook, Cams Hall, Wallington, Portchester Castle Street, Swanwick Shore, Town Quay, Osborn Road and Fareham High Street. Titchfield and Sarisbury Green both have Article 4 directions that remove some permitted development rights. If your home is in one of these, your extension will almost certainly need a planning application and careful matching of materials, which is exactly the kind of detail we get right. At the free site visit we tell you honestly which route your project falls under before any money changes hands.

Extremely competent, trustworthy, and first class in every way. They cleaned up every single night, even wiping the floors. We have recommended them to others who have been equally delighted. If you want a first class result, get in touch.

Kitchen Extension · Park Gate, Hampshire

We'd been let down badly before so we were cautious. The difference was obvious from the first meeting. They did exactly what they said, exactly when they said it. Remarkable.
